Rogozin ironic about NATO's decision to suspend cooperation with Russia

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister, former Representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin feels ironic about the NATO decision to suspend cooperation with Russia.

"NATO has decided to freeze cooperation with Russia until June. Moreover, they announced that [decision] on April 1," Rogozin wrote on Twitter.

He recalled that NATO made a similar decision in 2008, after the war in the Caucasus.

"Last time [in 2008] they stayed frozen for whole three months and thawed by December. What can I say: this is the Cold War, so they are freezing," Rogozin wrote.

NATO foreign ministers decided on Tuesday to suspend civilian and military cooperation with Russia but retain the political dialogue.

The ministers said in a statement they would review NATO-Russia relations at their next meeting in June.

They also unanimously condemned the Russian conduct and denied recognition to the Crimean accession to Russia.
