Moscow informs Kyiv about Black Sea Fleet agreements' denouncement
MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has informed Ukraine about the denouncement of the Black Sea Fleet agreements.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has notified Ukraine about the repeal of four international treaties, among them the agreement on parameters of the Black Sea Fleet division, the status and terms of deployment of the Black Sea Fleet, on settlements in the Black Sea Fleet division and its deployment in Ukraine and on the presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the Ukrainian territory, says a report posted on the ministry website.
"The note said the ministry proceeded from the premise that the terminated validity of the aforementioned international treaties would not relate to the financial liabilities, which emerged in the period of their validity and were subject to payment, and confirmed its readiness to settle issues pertaining to the terminated validity of the agreements at negotiations with the Ukrainian side," the ministry said.
