Ukraine has not asked Russia to help investigate Feb 20 events in Kyiv - Lavrov
MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - Russia has not received any requests from Ukraine to help it investigate the February 20 events in Kyiv, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"As for the possibility of conducting any joint investigations with our help, these crimes were committed on Ukrainian territory, not our territory," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday, adding that carrying out an inquiry into these crimes was out of Russia's jurisdiction.
The minister offered his comments in response to a question whether or not Russia could help investigate the February 20 events in Kyiv, including the death of people killed by snipers.
"We have not received any requests via legal channels from those who used the events of February 20 to seize power and stage a coup," Lavrov said.
