Putin expects Federal Security Service to intensify fight against corruption
MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a task for the Russian Federal Security Service to use citizen assistance in the fight against corruption more actively.
"We need to uncover corruption schemes and put up barriers for those who are trying to legalize illegally obtained money, hide it in foreign banks, invest it in real estate and other assets, including outside Russia," Putin said at the Federal Security Service collegium on Monday.
Putin said he expects the special services to intensify activities in this sphere.
"I am asking you to make more active use of citizens who are ready to help us in this work," Putin said, reiterating that the public is waiting for results in this area.
"Broad public support is an important prerequisite for effective fight against corruption," Putin said.
