Ukraine postpones conscripts' discharge due to mobilization campaign
KYIV. April 9 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army conscripts will not be discharged after the mobilization and "the occurrence of a special period as a result," the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on its Facebook page.
"From the time mobilization is announced, a special period begins during which the specifics of the military service in the Ukrainian armed forces enter in effect. The regulation... stipulates that in the event of a special period, all service members currently doing military service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not be discharged into reserve, except for servicewomen who have children aged under 16 (they have the option to continue the service if they wish)," the ministry said in a reply to multiple questions about deadlines for military discharge.
"In short, gentlemen, you serve until demobilization is announced. Do not get upset and hold up," the defense ministry said.
