Russia expects constructive reaction from Europe to Putin's letter on Ukraine - Lavrov

NOVO-OGARYOVO. April 11 (Interfax) - The letter written by Russian President Vladimir Putin to the leaders of 18 European countries on the situation in Ukraine has been delivered to the addressees and they have taken it seriously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in the Russian Security Council.

"Your order to send the letter to the leaders of the European countries that receive Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine has been fulfilled. All ambassadors delivered the letters to the addressees yesterday," Lavrov said, reiterating that everyone took the letter seriously.

"They promised to study it promptly and prepare reactions. We hope they will be constructive," Lavrov said.
