Lavrov begins talks with OPCW director-general
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - A meeting between Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Ahmet Uzumcu and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is taking place in Moscow on Monday.
Lavrov met with Uzumcu during the latter's visit to Russia, an Interfax correspondent said.
"We want to take this opportunity to show our full support for your organization. We are very keen on coordinating efforts to ensure there are no more chemical weapons in the world," Lavrov said while opening the meeting.
The day before this visit Interfax learned that the talks are expected to focus on the removal of Syrian chemical weapons.
