Ukrainians complain about Right sector - Russian rights activists
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russian human rights activists are receiving complaints from residents of Ukraine who are complaining about violations of their rights, discrimination and seizures of their property by Right Sector activists, the press service for the Russian Bar Association for Human Rights reported on Monday.
"Specialists of the association continue receiving complaints from the Ukrainian regions about human rights violations, persecution based on ethnic origin, discrimination, and threats to people's life and health as part of the campaign entitled Russia Will Help!," a report obtained by Interfax says.
The complaints contain information on property seizures by Right Sector activists and members of other nationalist groups, the press service reported. "Property is registered to militants within minutes and real owners are concerned about the procedures for regaining their property in the future," the report says.
Citizens also report all-Ukrainian mobilization and pressure exerted on men in the Ukrainian regions by Right Sector fighters.
"Men, regardless of age, are being made to buy firearms, which, according to local residents, are freely sold and are accessible to even teenagers, and the men are then forced to join 'guerilla units,'" the press release says.
