AlfaStrakhovanie group RAS net profits drop 33% in 2013
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The group AlfaStrakhovanie made 803.9 million rubles in net profits to RAS last year, down about a third from 1.194 billion rubles in 2012, a press release from the insurer says.
The group collected 130.8 billion rubles in insurance premiums last year, including mandatory medical insurance, which was 35.1% more than the year before. Not counting mandatory medical insurance premiums, collections were up 27.8% at 51.5 billion rubles. AlfaStrakhovanie's share of the insurance market increased 0.7 of a percentage point to 5.7%.
Of the group's total insurance portfolio in 2013, and not counting mandatory medical insurance, comprehensive automobile insurance, excluding liability, accounted for 22.4%, property insurance for 21.7%, and life insurance for 20.9%.
The highest collection dynamic for the group was in life insurance, where the company took in 10.8 billion rubles, or 78.5% more than in 2012. The company's share of this market increased 1.5 percentage points. AlfaStrakhovanie also had a large amount of growth in accident insurance - collections were up 42.8% at 1.76 billion rubles, where the market grew 27.1%.
The group's collections on the market for insuring property and against financial risks for private individuals and legal entities increased from 9.8 billion rubles to 11.2 billion rubles, and its market share 0.5 of a percentage point to 5.5%. Collections in the segment of private property insurance increased more than three-fold to 3 billion rubles.
