Georgian envoy to speak about bilateral relations with Russian diplomat
TBILISI. April 15 (Interfax) - The sixth round of consultations between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and Special Representative of the Georgian Prime Minister for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze will take place in Prague on April 16.
Abashidze told reporters before he departed from Tbilisi for Prague on Tuesday that he hoped to find out Russia's view of relations with Georgia.
"It is imperative to have information about Russia's view of the prospective of our dialogue with Mr. Karasin and Georgia as a whole," Abashidze said.
He said he would discuss traditional and pressing issues, among them the construction of barbed wire entanglements in the Tskhinvali district.
There are no diplomatic relations between Georgia and Russia, and the Abashidze-Karasin format deals with economic, transport, trade and humanitarian contacts.
