Russia calls on EU to focus on joint search for Ukraine resolution - ministry
MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - Russia has rejected any allegations accusing it of being involved in the armed standoff in east Ukraine and reiterated the baseless use of any sanctions.
"We reiterate that any sanctions with respect to Russia are baseless and counterproductive. Instead of intimidating us with another set of sanctions, the EU should better focus on the joint search for a solution to the internal Ukrainian crisis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"Any hints as to Russia's involvement in the armed standoff in east Ukraine are absolutely unacceptable, as are the attempts to openly meddle in Russia's internal affairs, including calls on Russia's Federation Council to urgently review any of its decisions," the Foreign Ministry said.
"The EU should realize that if it really wants to play a serious and positive role in settling the internal Ukrainian crisis, it is time for it to depart from its biased approaches based on the unconditional support for one of the parties to the Ukrainian conflict," the ministry said.
