Azerbaijan is conducting large-scale military exercise in Nakhichevan
BAKU. April 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have launched large-scale military exercises in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, an enclave in Armenia, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service says.
The exercise held under the command of the ministry leadership led by Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov involves the personnel of units and formations of the army, air force, air defense and rocket forces as well as the latest armored vehicles.
The purpose of the exercise is to test the combat capability of army units deployed in Nakhichevan, examine ways of applying military weaponry and equipment.
In addition, special attention will be paid to the prompt fulfillment of tasks, operation planning at command centers, the organization of interaction and the improvement of the standard of performance at various stages of an armed operation. The exercises are conducted in line with the plan of military training for 2014.
