Verkhovna Rada drafting appeal to all citizens of Ukraine
KYIV. April 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada will appeal for the unity of all Ukrainian citizens, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov said at a plenary meeting on Thursday morning.
"At the conciliatory council's meeting we spoke about an appeal of our parliament to all citizens of Ukraine, including citizens who live in eastern Ukraine, for concord and unity in the country," Turchynov said.
The parliament appeal "will clearly define its position on local self-government reforms," he said.
The speaker said that the anticipated reform would liquidate local administrations and instate executive committees instead.
