Explosion occurs near public transport stop in Bryansk, one person injured
BRYANSK. April 17 (Interfax) - An explosion occurred near a public transport stop in Bryansk's Bezhitsky district and one person has been injured, the press office of the Russian Interior Ministry Department for the Bryansk region said.
A police call center was informed about the incident near the Bryansk proletarian division street stop at around 2.55 p.m. Police response unit went to the site immediately.
"As of now, the area has been closed off. According to witnesses, the explosion happened near a bench in a public garden located next to the stop. One person has been injured by the explosion. The man has been brought to a medical facility with superficial wounds," the press office said.
According to the preliminary theory of the Interior Ministry Department, an RGD-5 grenade could have exploded, which one of the young men had. It is thought that this man was under the influence.
Young men have been detained and details of the incident are being determined now. Police are investigating the need to open a criminal case.
