South Ossetian authorities hand over detained reporters to Georgia
TSKHINVAL. April 17 (Interfax) - The South Ossetian authorities deported on April 16 three Georgian reporters, who were detained the day before for violating the South Ossetian border, South Ossetia's KGB press office told Interfax.
"Administrative deportation without a fine has been applied to three Georgian citizens. This has been done as sign of good will by the South Ossetian authorities," the press office said.
The transfer of border violators to representatives of the Georgian authorities was held in the border village of Ergneti.
Reporters Bella Zakaidze, Vakhtang Lekishvili and Mikhail Mikhoyev have been released from a Tskhinval detention facility, Georgia's TV3 channel has reported.
