Ukraine govt sets October 1 deadline for power decentralization debates
KYIV. April 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian cabinet has adopted an instruction giving the country's ministers, other senior government officials, the regional administrations and the Kyiv city administration until October 1, 2014 to hold debates on planned constitutional amendments that propose decentralizing power in the country, the government's press service said.
These discussions should also involve local authorities, their associations, public figures, scholars and business people.
The Ministry for Regional Development, Construction and the Housing and Utilities Sector has been put in charge of coordinating the debates.
