Ruble falls slightly against dollar, euro in evening trading on Friday

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro were up in evening trading on Friday, while the ruble fell slightly against the bicurrency basket amid doubt for a quick de-escalation of political tensions.

The dollar was up 12 kopecks from previous closing at 35.58 rubles/$1 by 6:40 p.m. Moscow time and the euro was up 6.35 kopecks at 49.175 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) grew 9 kopecks to 41.7 rubles.

The average weighted dollar rate in Today trading fell 37.3 kopecks to 35.54 rubles/$1. The Tomorrow rate was down 31.4 kopecks by 6:35 p.m. at 35.557 rubles/$1. Dollar trading amounted to $3.7 billion by that time, with $1.3 billion in Today and $2.4 billion in Tomorrow deals.

Today deals did not take place on Friday. The average weighted euro Tomorrow rate fell 55.4 kopecks to 49.158 rubles/EUR1. Euro trading amounted to EUR285 million.

On the money market, the overnight MosPrime Rate was 8.08% per annum for the second day in a row.
