Police kill gunman in North Caucasus clash - spokesman
NALCHIK, Russia. April 19 (Interfax) - Police shot dead a man who opened fire on them from a car they were chasing in an incident in Nalchik, capital of the republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia's North Caucasus, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman said.
"After being told to surrender, the criminal opened fire on the police from a car that was being pursued. He was liquidated with return fire," the spokesman told Interfax.
The spokesman said none of the police had been hurt. He said the gunman had used a pistol.
