Probe ends into Georgian army operations in Aug 2008 - Defense Minister Alasania
TBILISI. April 21 (Interfax) - The Georgian political administration will study a report of the commission, which has analyzed the Georgian army operations in the August 2008 war, Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania said.
In his words, every mistake and success of that war will be taken into consideration in the new defense strategy of Georgia.
"The document has been drawn up and we expect the General Staff to present it to me and the country's political administration before the end of this month. I would like to repeat that our primary objective is to study every mistake and success and to make this study a foundation of our defense doctrine," Alasania said.
The minister noted that the commission "was doing a research, not an investigation."
The commission studying the Russian-Georgian war of August 2008 was set up at the Georgian Defense Ministry in August 2013.
