Over 1,000 Russians denied entry into Ukraine since April 17 - Ukraine border service

KYIV. April 22 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian state border service has denied more than a thousand Russian citizens entry into Ukraine since April 17, said State Border Service chief Oleh Slobodyan.

"Since the border control regime was tightened on April 17, more than 1,000 Russian citizens have been denied entry into Ukraine," he said.

He also said that the share of those denied entry into Ukraine in the total number of Russian citizens seeking entry is not large.

Almost 35,000 Russian citizens have crossed into Ukraine over the past 24 hours and 249 were not cleared in, Slobodyan said.

"The ratio was the same in the previous days," he said.
