Ground attack aircraft to practice bombing, air defense penetration in Krasnodar territory
MOSCOW. April 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Crews of Sukhoi Su-25 and Su-25SM3 ground attack aircraft of the Southern Military District will practice at a range in the Krasnodar territory to prepare for the Aviadarts 2014 contest.
"The pilots will penetrate air defense of a simulated enemy, destroy ground targets at a range of up to 1,500 meters with S-8 airborne missiles and GSh-30-2 cannons and drop bombs," says a report of the Southern Military District press service seen by Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
A Southern Military District commission will assess piloting and ground target destruction skills of the pilots, air defense penetration and security measures. The best pilots will represent the district in the Aviadarts 2014 contest of Russian Air Force crews.
