All forest fires put out in Irkutsk region

IRKUTSK. April 24 (Interfax) - An emergency situation regime put into place in the Ziminsky district of the Irkutsk region at the start of this week has been lifted, the regional department of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reports.

"The emergency situation regime has been cancelled by the Ziminsky district mayor upon stabilization," the report runs.

Meanwhile, the Irkutsk regional forestry agency reported the absence of forest fires as of Thursday morning.

Twelve forest fires broke out on 126.7 hectares on Wednesday. Forty-four fires were extinguished on an area of 2,439.7 hectares.

In all, the region has seen 336 forest fires on 10,366.9 hectares since the beginning of this wildfire season. Thirty-six fires were put out on an area of 3,636 hectares.
