One should not expect too much of "divided" UNSC in terms of Ukraine crisis solution - Russian envoy
MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - The UN Security Council (UNSC) is divided, and one should not expect too much of it as far as the search for a solution to the Ukrainian crisis is concerned, Russia's UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin has said.
"As for the [UN] Security Council, certainly one should not expect too much of it today simply because it is facing a rift," Churkin said during a special issue of the "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" television program late on Thursday.
The UN Security Council "would be unable to adopt a decision that even theoretically could allow the UN to play any useful role in this issue," he said.
