Moscow: Chemical attack accusations against Damascus are new pretext to use force

MOSCOW. April 25 (Interfax) - Moscow has proof that the Syrian regime has not used chemical weapons and the latest accusations are a new pretext for the use of force.

"Credible evidence possessed by the Russian side shows that these allegations [of the use of chemical arms by government forces] are wrong. Another anti-Syrian "chemical" story makes one think about the real goals of its initiators who keep trying to find a pretext for using force against Syria," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the claims were being made amid "the OPCW declarations of the successful chemical disarmament of Syria and the possibility of completing the export of chemical weapons components on time."
