Crimea expects to have 3 mln tourists this season

YALTA. April 26 (Interfax) - Crimea expects to have at least 3 million tourists this year, even if railway services with other Russian regions via Ukraine are not set, acting Crimea's Head Sergei Aksyonov said.

"We expect at least 3 million tourists," Aksyanov told reporters in Yalta on Saturday.

Kerch ferry crossing, the Simferopol airport and other Crimean ports will allow taking that many visitors, he said.

The Crimean authorities forecast the possible number of tourists taking into account "the national boom" in Russia and the aspiration of many Russian citizens to help Crimea, which accessed to Russia, and to spend holidays there, Aksyonov said.

According to the information of the Crimean tourism ministry, in 2013 around 6 million people went to Crimea, however some experts say that this figure is inflated.
