South-East activist invited to be questioned only - Kharkiv police

KHARKIV. April 30 (Interfax) - A member of the South-East movement's coordination council and one of the most active pro-Russian demonstrators in Kharkiv, Yuriy Apukhtin, was invited, not arrested, for questioning, a spokesperson for the Kharkiv regional police told Interfax.

"He was not held. He was invited to give evidence as a witness in a criminal inquiry. He has already been questioned and released," the spokesperson said.

He would not say on what charges the criminal case was opened.

Earlier an informed source told Interfax that Apukhtin was held on Wednesday morning and taken to the Dzerzhinsk District Police Department.
