Kyiv needs direct dialog with southeast Ukraine - Lavrov
SANTIAGO. April 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has spoken of the need for direct dialogue between the government in Kyiv and southeast Ukraine.
"The role of Russia, the U.S. and Europe, any other interested countries lies not in fencing off some one Ukrainian side or other, but in helping to start direct dialogue between those who have assumed power in Kyiv and those who disagree with them, primarily in the country's southeast," Lavrov said on Wednesday after meeting his Chilean counterpart Heraldo Munoz.
