Russian oil exports outside CIS down 12.1% in January-April

MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - Exports of Russian oil to countries outside the CIS fell 2.1% year-on-year to 67.825 million tonnes (4.143 million barrels per day) in January-April 2014, the latest figures from the Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex show.

Russia exported 17.890 million tonnes of oil in April or 4.371 million barrels per day on average, 3.9% less year-on-year.

Oil exports to non-CIS countries through pipeline monopoly Transneft totaled 66.726 million tonnes in the four months (17.578 million tonnes in April), of which 60.032 million tonnes was Russian oil (15.974 million tonnes), and around 7.793 million tonnes bypassed Transneft (1.916 million tonnes).

Shipments of Russian oil through the Novorossiysk port via Transneft's pipeline system totaled 8.253 million tonnes in January-April (2.120 million tonnes in April). The figures were 14.902 million tonnes for the Primorsk port (4.200 million tonnes), 7.796 million tonnes for Kozmino (1.899 million tonnes) and 4.498 million tonnes for Ust-Luga (1.399 million tonnes).

State-owned oil major Rosneft exported 32.061 million tonnes of oil outside the CIS via Transneft in January-April (8.827 million tonnes in April); Lukoil exported 6.536 million tonnes (1.815 million tonnes); Surgutneftegas - 8.991 million tonnes (2.273 million tonnes); Gazprom Neft exported 2.261 million tonnes (660,000 tonnes); and Tatneft - 2.836 million tonnes (699,000 tonnes).

Companies that are not part of vertically integrated oil companies exported 3.860 million tonnes of oil to countries outside the CIS through Transneft in January-April, and 0.828 million tonnes in April. Operators of production sharing agreements exported 518,700 tonnes of oil (131,200 tonnes).

Transit of oil from Kazakhstan totaled 5.664 million tonnes in the four months (1.350 million tonnes in April) and 338,800 tonnes for Azerbaijan (84,500 tonnes).

Russian oil companies decreased crude oil exports to CIS countries by 26.0% to 7.250 million tonnes in January-April. Exports to Belarus fell 1.7% year-on-year to 7.233 million tonnes, while exports to Kazakhstan totaled 17,306 tonnes.

The data on export to neighboring countries reflect swaps in oil supplies to China through Kazakhstan.
