U.S. diplomat to hold meetings in Astana
ASTANA. May 5 (Interfax) - The United States Deputy Secretary of State William Burns is to meet with Kazakh leaders in Astana on May 7-8 to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation.
In particular, the discussion will focus on security and economics, the U.S. Embassy to Kazakhstan said in a statement on Monday.
His visit will become a confirmation of U.S. long-term commitments to the cause of security and prosperity in Central Asia, the statement said.
