Uniastrum Bank elects new board of directors

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Uniastrum Bank, part of the Bank of Cyprus Group (BoC), has elected a new board of directors, a bank spokesman said.

Five incumbents were reelected: board chairman George Piskov and Uniastrum President Gagik Zakarian (both of whom have ownership stakes), independent non-executive board member Alexander Brechalov, and two BoC representatives: senior non-executive director Konstantinos Katsaros and International Operations chief Miltiades Michaelas.

The four new members of the board are all BoC representatives: Audit Committee chief Ioannis Zographakis; Strategy and Restructuring Committee head Andreas Yiasimides; Marinos Yialelis, who has seats on four of BoC's five board of directors' committees; and Michalis Athanasiou, BoC's group chief risk officer.

Four incumbents were not reelected: member of the B&N Bank board of directors Anjelica Anshakova; Kirill Parinov, a member of the Ethics Commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; First Vice-President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Vladimir Kantorovich; and Insigma Group chairman Dmitry Chichikashvili.

Uniastrum Bank was the 86th biggest Russian bank by assets as of the end of the first quarter of 2014 according to the Interfax-100 ranking compiled by the Center for Economic Analysis. BoC owns 80% of shares and Zakarian and Piskov each have 10%.
