Donetsk administration still occupied by gunmen - police
KYIV. May 8 (Interfax) - The buildings of the Donetsk regional state administration and a police department in Horlivka remain occupied, the Donetsk city executive committee is not being blocked but gunmen are still inside, the Donetsk regional police said.
"At this moment, the situation in the Donetsk region looks as follows: the administrative building of the Donetsk regional administration in Donetsk remains occupied. Gunmen in masks and camouflage uniforms are still inside the Donetsk city executive committee without thwarting its work, the staff are working as usual," said a spokesperson for the Donetsk regional police.
In Horlivka, the administrative buildings of the police main directorate and organized crime unit remain occupied by unknown people, according to the regional police.
Gunmen in masks and camouflage uniforms are also inside the Donetsk and Nikitovsky District prosecutor's offices, the police said.
About 30 federalization supporters are inside the Slovyansk town department, access to the building is free, driveways have been barricaded, the police said.
As for the situation in Kramatorsk, the local council building is still occupied, access to it is free, gunmen remain inside the building, the police said.
The police also recalled the seized television tower and the switching off of Ukrainian channels. "The tower perimeter is controlled by gunmen in masks and black uniform. Access is blocked," the spokesperson said.
Barricades have been removed after the Mariupol town executive committee was freed, and the staff are now working as usual, the police said.
