CIS borders should unite not separate countries - Kyrgyz president
MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - The CIS borders should unite, not separate countries, and Russia is an irreplaceable strategic partner, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev said.
"Following the fall of the Soviet Union many independent countries appeared, but we want the new borders to unite, not separate counties," Atambaev said at a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"In the past years our common affairs [of Kyrgyzstan and Russia] have gone up and we have many joint projects we will discuss now," Atambaev said.
"Russia is our strategic ally and we will always be on one side of the front together," the Kyrgyz president said.
Atambaev said he congratulated Putin with the coming Victory Day. "We should do everything possible so that this holiday remains sacred forever," the Kyrgyz president said.
