French president arrives in Armenia on state visit

YEREVAN. May 12 (Interfax) - French President Francois Hollande arrived in Yerevan on Monday with a two-day state visit upon the invitation of his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsian.

Sargsian has welcomed Hollande in the Zvartnots international airport in Yerevan.

From the airport the two presidents will go to the Armenia Marriott Hotel, where they will attend the Armenian-French business forum.

Negotiations between Sargsian and Hollande will take place in the framework of the visit and then an expanded meeting of delegations will be held.

Documents on developing and enhancing bilateral relations will be signed following the talks.

The French president will visit the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to the Armenian Genocide victims in Yerevan and then Sargsian and Hollande will attend a concert of famous chansonnier Charles Aznavour.

On May 13 the two presidents will hold a joint news conference and will attend the opening ceremony of the public garden named after National Hero of France and famous poet Missak Manouchian in central Yerevan.

Sargsian and Holland will also go to the construction site of the hypermarket of the French company Carrefour, where they will study works being held.
