Dollar, euro fall to 3-mth lows against ruble
MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - The dollar and euro have fallen to three-month lows against the ruble in early trading on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) Tuesday.
The ruble is strengthening against the bi-currency basket as sentiment in the global stock markets improves.
The dollar traded at 34.91 rubles/$1 after the first minute or so, 13 kopecks below yesterday's closing level and 30 kopecks below the official rate for today.
The euro began the day at 48.07 rubles/EUR1, 21.5 kopecks below yesterday's closing and 41 below the official rate.
The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) started the day at 40.83 rubles, down 17 kopecks from yesterday's closing value.
The euro fell below the 48-ruble mark to 47.94 rubles/EUR1 by 10:26 a.m. and the dollar was down to 34.5 rubles. The basket had fallen to 40.74 rubles.
