Yatsenyuk opposes expansion of "Geneva format" of settlement in Ukraine
KYIV. May 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said international agreements on the situation in Ukraine can only be reached in the Geneva format.
"As to the international aspect, we believe that additional agreements should be approved and adopted at the international level in the format in which it happened in Geneva: the four-party format, Ukraine-EU-U.S.-Russia," he told the first nationwide roundtable meeting of national unity held in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Yatsenyuk believes this format gives international answers to questions related to the security of Ukraine as a unitary, unified and independent state.
"The work we have done, which will be used inside the country, should be reflected in the draft version of the new Constitution and in our joint decisions at the international level," he said.
Yatsenyuk reiterated that the Ukrainian authorities "will not leave the path" that envisages the unity of the country, decentralization of power, changes to the Constitution, election of new legitimate president, and the European integration of Ukraine.
