Party of Regions demands stop to military operation in southeast Ukraine, that National Guard and Dnieper battalion disband
KYIV. May 15 (Interfax) - The Party of Regions faction in the Ukrainian parliament insists that the military operation should be suspended for the "roundtable" meetings of national unity and that the National Guard and the Dnieper battalion disband, parliamentarian Mykola Levchenko said.
"We demand the suspension of the anti-terrorist operation for the period of peaceful negotiation. We believe the parliament cannot continue working in this situation. It's hypocrisy. When blood is being shed, the parliament should work out measures to stop this war, not work and vote here," Levchenko told the parliament on Thursday.
Levchenko said that the Party of Regions faction also demands that the National Guard and the Dnieper battalion disband.
