Rasmussen says Russia hasn't fulfilled Geneva agreements on Ukraine

BRUSSELS. May 15 (Interfax) - Russia has not taken the steps to de-escalate the crisis in Ukraine that are envisioned in the Geneva agreements reached on April 17, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in Bratislava on Thursday.

Rasmussen again called on the NATO countries to provide more money for defense, adding that close attention should be given to the modernization of weapons and equipment, not the number of troops.

Rasmussen also said that all countries should be free to decide whether they should join NATO.
