Top officials appointed in Luhansk people's republic
MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Valeriy Bolotov has been elected as the head of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) at a first session of the LPR Supreme Council late on Sunday evening, an Interfax correspondent said.
Also, Vasyl Nikitin has been appointed as the LPR head of government.
Alexei Karyakin has been appointed as the chairman of the LPR republican assembly.
The LPR Parliament also passed a constitution as a temporary law of the self-proclaimed republic.
"At the first session of the Supreme Council its members adopted a Constitution as a temporary law of the LPR," the correspondent reported from the scene on Sunday.
The 108 elected representatives represented all towns and villages across the LPR.
During the discussion of the LPR constitution draft parliamentarians suggested that all documentation be written in Russian.
Bolotov was born in Taganrog and moved to Stakhanov in 1974. He holds two university degrees which he obtained after serving in the army. Bolotov worked as manager and director at a meat factory and used to a run a small business. He has two children.
Nikitin is 42 years old. He graduated from an agricultural institute. Since 1998 served as deputy director at several factories before taking up economics and finance, mainly in the coal industry. Married with two children. Was actively involved in organizing the referendum over the status of the Luhansk region and was a spokesman for the southeast United Army headquarters.
Karyakin was born in Stakhanov in 1980. He graduated from a local college with a specialty in car maintenance and repair. He is married with three children.
