Gold in Central Bank of Russia reserves up 2.7% to 34.4 mln oz in April

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia had 34.4 million Troy ounces (1,070 tonnes) of gold in its reserves as of May 1, 2014, up 2.7% from the beginning of April, the Central Bank said on its web site.

The gold reserves grew 2% in April to $44.3 billion or 9.4% of the reserves on May 1, compared with 8.9% on April 1.

Gold reserves grew 3.3% during January-April 2014, from 33.3 million oz (1,036 tonnes) on January 1. The reserves grew 10.8% in value, from $39.99 billion on January 1.
