Car production in Russia down 2.9% in Jan-April - Rosstat
MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Russia produced 613,000 cars in January-April 2014, 2.9% less year-on-year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Car production in April was down 2.8% from March 2014 and down 0.2% from April 2013.
Russia produced 47,100 trucks, including chassis, in January-April, down 23.3% year-on-year; and 11,100 buses, 28% less.
Russia's main car producers are OJSC Avtovaz , the Sollers group, OJSC Avtoframos (Renault's plant in Moscow). The country's main truck-builders are OJSC Kamaz and the GAZ group.
