Russian Helicopters has no problems with Western sanctions so far - general director
MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The enterprises of the holding Russian Helicopters have not reported any problems with Western component parts, Russian Helicopters General Director Alexander Mikheyev told reporters on Thursday.
"There are no prerequisites to disruption of outstanding contracts of the holding Russian Helicopters for now either in defense orders or in commercial contracts or in agreements signed by Rosoboronexport," Mikheyev said at the exhibition HeliRussia 2014.
He said the holding had been conducting "round-the-clock monitoring of the fulfillment of contracts, including those pertaining to engine deliveries from Ukraine."
"European companies, among them Turbomecca, supply engines and component parts on time, and Ukraine's Motor Sich honors its commitment to supply engines for commercial helicopters," Mikheyev stated.
Meanwhile, Russia is drawing up import substitution programs, which will solve the problem once and for all, he said. A number of large enterprises of the state corporation Rostec, including the United Engine Corporation and the concern Radio-Electronic Technologies, contribute to this project.
"Hopefully, an efficient import substitution program will be ready in no time and apply not only to concrete units and assemblies but also to components essential for the production of hardware, including materials," Mikheyev said.
