Lukashenko on creation of Eurasian Economic Union: "We have reached agreements"
MINSK. May 22 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes that Belarus and Russia have "brilliant" relations and said a compromise has been reached in the work on the treaty on the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
"We have a brilliant relationship with Russia. It's not without problems and conflicts, all these things happen, but people are open about that," Lukashenko said in an interview with Dozhd television.
Speaking about the signing of the treaty on the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union, which is scheduled to take place in Astana on May 29, Lukashenko said: "We have reached an agreement that half of these duties on the petroleum products that we make and sell is lifted, and then we will gradually move in that direction."
"We understand that the situation in Russia has changed. Like you say, it is not easy, but it's not so bad to speak about duties," Lukashenko said.
