Russians discouraged from traveling to Libya

MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has urged Russians to refrain from traveling to Libya.

"We shall continue paying paramount attention to the entire range of issues regarding the security of our embassy staff in Tripoli. Given the recurrence of destabilization in Libya, we recommend that our citizens refrain from traveling to this country," Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said at a briefing in Moscow on Thursday.

Moscow also urges the opposing sides in Libya to stop the violence and resolve their differences through negotiations.
