"If I understand the system for recovering investment correctly, they [Rostelecom ] are proposing that mobile operators invest in the project. We will be more than happy to consider this and speak with Rostelecom on this topic," Tavrin said.
It was reported earlier that Rostelecom plans to conclude an agreement on construction of the Sakhalin-Magadan-Kamchatka fiber-optic line with Tekhkompaniya Khuavei LLC, a Huawei company. The cost of company services will total about 3 billion rubles.
Huawei plans to begin preparing the cable and equipment in 2014. The system is scheduled to enter service in June 2016.
