Lavrov: Russia rejects NATO offer to meet on May 27 as way to legitimatize Ukrainian election
ST. PETERSBURG. May 23 (Interfax) - Russia rejects the North Atlantic Alliance's proposal to convene the Russia-NATO Council on May 27 because its purpose is the rapid legitimatization of the May 25 presidential election in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We have absolutely no doubt that their sole purpose is to legitimatize the May 25 election," he told reporters in St. Petersburg on Friday.
