Referring to bloggers as mass media in no contradiction with global practice - Putin

ST. PETERSBURG. May 23 (Interfax) - Referring to some bloggers as mass media outlets is in line with global tendencies in this sector and in this case Russia just closes its gaps in legislation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Such practice, it is used in European countries - in the UK, Germany, and the United States - and there is nothing out of the ordinary here. This is just a gap in our legislation, which we closed, and using these standards does not contradict global tendencies. Everything is in the framework of our common tendencies here," Putin said during a plenary session of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
