Russian, U.S. diplomats discuss situation in Ukraine
MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - The situation in Ukraine ahead of the May 25 presidential election was discussed at a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and the U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Russia Sheila Gwaltney.
The meeting was held a day earlier at Gwaltney's request, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
"The meeting focused on pressing international issues, including the situation in Ukraine ahead of the May 25 presidential election," the document said.
