Fighting on in Luhansk region - Tihipko campaign staff

KYIV. May 25 (Interfax) - Fighting is on in the Luhansk region, according to Ukrainian presidential candidate Serhiy Tihipko's campaign staff.

"We have received a confirmation in contacts with the campaign staff chief in Luhansk Oleksandr Tkachenko, that shots can be heard outside the town of Chuginka. No one will leave his home to vote, of course. The fighting has been on since the night," chief of Tihipko campaign staff Svetlana Fabrikant said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.

But she said that according to the Defense Ministry, no fighting has been observed in the zone of counterterrorism operation since "silence" set in yesterday.
