Police unit in Rostov region districts bordering Ukraine enhanced with mobile groups - Interior Ministry
ROSTOV-ON-DON. May 27 (Interfax) - Police units of all 11 districts of Russia's Rostov region, which border Ukraine, have been enhanced with mobile groups, Head of the Russian Interior Ministry Main Department for the Rostov region Andrei Larionov told reporters on Tuesday.
"As of now, interior affairs units of these 11 districts have been reinforced with 30 mobile police groups, whose number exceeds 80 people," Larionov said.
Temporary police groups of 80 more people oversee the border areas. This enhancement is created using personnel of the Interior Ministry's main reinforcement for the Rostov region, where mostly special purpose police, field service and traffic safety service serve.
Since army subdivisions were withdrawn from the Ukrainian border, an upsurge in crime levels in districts bordering Ukraine has not been registered, Larionov said.
