Abkhaz opposition accuses authorities of insufficient integration with Russia

SUKHUM. May 27 (Interfax) - One of the Abkhaz opposition leaders, poet Vladimir Zantariya, has explained the essence of their demands to the authorities.

"We are trying to put our house in order, but I want to stress that the relations between Abkhazia and Russia are sacred for us," Zantariya told Interfax.

"On the contrary, we are accusing - and that was said today at the rally - the current Abkhaz authorities of insufficient integration with Russia," he said.

It was reported that a group of opposition activists started storming the presidential administration building without waiting for the end of the talks with Abkhaz President Alexander Ankvab.

A group of several dozen people started smashing windows and doors of the building and has already gone inside, an Interfax correspondent said.

Meanwhile, the opposition negotiators are still at the office of the Abkhaz president.
